This is a senior-level course designed for elementary and secondary education majors. This course meets for half a semester. Teacher preparation in and out of the classroom is a major component of this course, both philosophically and practically. Topics will include teaching skill, student interaction, classroom and lesson preparation, mentoring students, creating a desire to learn, healthy expectations of student achievement, application of material, use of visuals and modalities, and training students for the future. The instruction will come from selected professors having at least twenty-five years of experience each. PREREQUISITE: College standing as a senior in the BRE Education Program.
