Earlier this May, sixty-five young men departed for Las Vegas early in the morning to visit three ministries that the Lord has raised up. These students were primarily pastoral or missions majors. Each feel confident that the Lord has called them to pioneer a new work for Him by planting a church where none previously existed.

This trip was a result of Pastor Paul Chappell’s burden for church planters in the West. He saw this as an opportunity for these students to develop a heart for church planting and to gain a better idea of how it is done. When Pastor Chappell extended an invitation to the students, many eagerly responded.

Three pastors in the Las Vegas area met with the team and gave an hour of their time to answer questions and show the group around their properties.  All of the pastors had planted the church where they pastored. 

“This is awesome!  These pastors have really inspired me about my future ministry” said Ryan Willis, a Junior who feels the Lord wants him to plant a church one day.  The men enjoyed taking notes, pictures, and asking lots of questions.  What a blessing for young men who are dedicated to planting churches to have Biblical models to learn from.
