Freshman Soulwinner

It was a sunny Tuesday afternoon prior to Open House Sunday, during a week when the college and church team together to reach out to every family in the Antelope Valley with an invitation to attend Lancaster Baptist Church. Luis was in his room after lunch when his friend asked him to go soulwinning. Luis agreed, not knowing what God had in store for him.
Luis came to West Coast Baptist College planning to “give God one year.” Though Luis came from a great soulwinning church in California, he had never personally led anyone to the Lord. He learned how to share the Gospel through his classes and applied what he had learned by going door-to-door soulwinning. The thought of confrontational soulwinning terrified Luis, but each week he became more comfortable.
The two friends arrived at the neighborhood and began knocking on doors. As they left one house they met Isaac walking home from school. Luis and Isaac began to talk, and soon Luis was using what he had learned to tell this young man about Christ.
“There is a map to our church in this invitation, but more importantly, on the back there is a map to heaven,” Luis told Isaac, “Do you know for sure that if you died you would go to heaven?” Isaac told Luis he had heard about being saved before, but he had never personally made that decision. Over the next twenty minutes, Luis showed the young man how to be saved. Isaac said he understood, and he prayed for forgiveness and asked Jesus to be his Savior.
Two lives changed that day. Isaac became a child of God, and Luis understood the joy of leading another person to Jesus Christ. Earlier in the semester, Luis felt the call of God into full-time ministry and determined to stay for a four year degree. Pray for Luis as he continues to serve the Lord with his life.
